Caring for your body often includes daily routines such as eating right, exercising, and meditating, but sometimes we need a little outside help. Sometimes, that outside help is more like inside and around help, but it is help nonetheless. Consider vaginal rejuvenation before and after some of your toughest moments. Would things be different if you had the operation done?

When first hearing the words “vaginal rejuvenation,” the first thing that might come to mind is a spa day for your vagina. And while you’re not far off, let us provide some clarification. Vaginal rejuvenation is a way to renew your vagina by restoring the vaginal anatomy and support. This process consists of making an incision along the perineum into the bottom wall of the vaginal canal and then bringing the relaxed muscle back together. Oftentimes, this brings about negative connotations for women as some have negative connotations about altering their body, especially in such a sensitive area. But as women, we should never feel ashamed about improving ourselves, whether it’s on the inside or the out.

The list of reasons why someone would get the procedure is long, but tend to be centered around the stretching and damage to your vaginal walls and pelvic floor. This can occur from several natural causes such as weight loss, weight gain, childbirth, previous pelvic surgeries and even genetics. Luckily, there are various vaginal surgeries that can remedy these troubles. For example, vaginoplasty can tighten the vaginal canal after childbirth and help to improve sexual satisfaction.

Along with vaginal rejuvenation procedures, some women might also choose to undergo labiaplasty, a separate procedure that involves the removal of excess skin in the inner or outer labia. A lot of women tend to notice discomfort while jogging or working out. The main difference from vaginal rejuvenation is that Labiaplasty involves the removal of tissue, where vaginal rejuvenation involves tightening and restoration.

Other vaginal operations can include hymenoplasty and clitoral unhooding (also referred to as hoodectomy or clitoral hood reduction). Each of these procedures can be performed to enhance the appearance of your vagina, increase stimulation during sex, and keep your vagina functioning to your standards. Vaginal rejuvenation is not just for looks but can also help restore vaginal wall support, increase your pelvic muscle function, and reverse rectal and bladder prolapse as well.

No one should have to deal with the level of discomfort these women experience. You shouldn’t have to live with weak vaginal muscles or uncomfortable pelvic pain just because these symptoms run in your family or because you’ve had children. Exploring vaginal rejuvenation and learning more about vaginal procedures can help you realize the potential behind the practice and better understand if vaginal rejuvenation is right for you.
